INSECT REPELLENT
Insect reprellents such as Peaceful Sleep, Tabard and Citronella Oil are strongly advised. Also mosquito coils. Although there are not many mosquitoes due to the onshore breeze from the sea, there are palm flies that bite and the best repellent for these is Citronella Oil. It is advisable to wear long sleeved shirts and light cotton longs on summer evenings
WHAT IS A DHOW?
A coasting vessel of Arabia, East Africa, and the Indian Ocean. It generally has one mast and a lateen sail. In Mozambique, the locals use this for for various purposes, eg: transportation, fishing, tours and services for tourists for a reasonable fee. Inhambane's harbour still has the largest fleet of working dhow's to this day!

Mozambique with its sub tropical - tropical climate has so much to see and do ...
Beautiful clear waters, white sand and blue skies ... make this destination the perfect place to spend your holiday. Visitors often travel to Mozambique to spend their time off, snorkeling, scuba diving and enjoying the hot sun and warm waters.
With plenty of resorts / lodges / hotels and other accommodation situated on Mozambique's spectacular beaches - Mozambicans have really taken advantage of their stunning coastline. There are also plenty of top class game reserves for the Game and bird watching enthusiasts.
The most popular times of the year occur around the Xmas / New Years and Easter holidays... so if you are interested in visiting Mozambique, make sure to book accommodation early to avoid mad rushes and disappointment.
Depending on the individual tourist ...the best times to visit Mozambique can be between May and late January. If you are keen for Mozambique's lower temperatures and low rainfall (dry season), then May - November is the best time period to visit. Temperatures average about 18.4° to 20°C (65° - 68°F).

If you are keen for High temperatures, then the best time period would be between November and January (wet season). Reaching as high as the late 30°... the average temperatures are approximately between 26.6°C and 29.4°C (80°F and 85°F). Extremely high rainfalls and even floodings occur between the months of February - April. So roads can be difficult, if not impossible to go through in the centre and Southern regions. So take this into consideration if you travelling around that time of the year.
