Easily accessible by road or air, just 45 minutes from Zavora, North of Maputo. Caju Afrique is nestled quietly along the water's edge of the magnificent Rio Inharime river offering an unmissable holiday adventure. It is with great pride that we introduce you to Caju'Afrique, a place of relaxation, of fun, and most of all beauty of a mozambique holiday. Caju Afrique is in the famed Cabo Mangorro region of Inhambane province and inhambane tropics in Mozambique southern region.

If you wish to take in a quiet atmosphere, and have a multitude of activities available for you to explore, or simply relax, then Caju'Afrique is the choice to make when deciding on your next Mozambique trip.

Fly in packages are available from Executive Turbine flight between Lanseria (Pretoria) and Inhambane twice weekly on a charter operation. Once you arrive in Inhambane, we will collect you and bring you back to Caju Afrique where you holiday will start.

A large saltwater system comprising Lake Polela +- 30kms across with a 70km tail - Rio Inharime. At your disposal is white sea sand base and beaches. Tropical flora encasing 'gin' clear blue water. The land around Caju Afrique is rich in semi precious stones, you can also buy the processed stones locally at very good prices

Tastefully furnished, fully equipped self catering facilities, with 3 stilted accommodation lodges on the waters edge to and two camp sites for those that enjoy a more "pioneering" experience.

  Just 1 hour up the road is Inhambane, one of the oldest settlements in Southern Africa. It is reputed that Vasgo de Gama set down in the protected bay in and around 1472. He took an immediate liking to the place and name it Terra de Boa Gente or "Land of the Gentle People". Portuguese traders came around 1500 and set up a trading post. It is here that you can not only explore the rich history but also get your food and supplies for your holiday with us. Alternatively, email us your food and drink requirements and we will stock the lodge of your choice with your provisions prior to arrival. Please ensure that the charges for this are paid with your desposit

LODGE 1
Welcome to the first of three fully equipped self catering lodges on the waters edge on the Rio Inharime river. This lodge comfortable sleeps between 1 - 6 people and is serviced daily by our friendly and helpful staff

On the river's edge you enjoy stunning views as well as a private balcony, a fully equipped kitchen, bath and an enclosed porch. You have your own private jetty and private beach. There is also kayaks / canoes with lifejackets to explore, or fish the river.

Transfers are avialable from the airport at Inhambane.
Shelterd parking at each lodge and security guards.

LODGE 2
Lodge 2 offers self catering accommodation for 2 - 6 individuals. It also offers stunning views over on the Rio Inharime river. This fully equipped, stylish lodge is the ideal holiday venue in a quiet, tranquil paradise. The lodge is serviced daily by our helpful and friendly staff

The lodge has a private balcony, lounge area, shower and an enclosed porch.
You have your own private jetty and private beach. There is also kayaks / canoes with lifejackets to explore, or fish the river.

Transfers are avialable from the airport at Inhambane. Shelterd parking at each lodge and security guards.

LODGE 3
This large self-catering lodge accommodates between 3 -12 individuals and is ideal for a family holiday or even friends.

The accommodation lodge comes with your own private jetty and beach.The lodge enjoys a large fully equipped kitchen and lounge with 3 bedrooms with a porch that can accommodate 2 guests. The lodge also enjoys two baths and showers. The accommodation is serviced daily by our friendly and helpful staff.

CAMPSITE
For those that prefer the more down to earth experience, Caju Afrique offers two well equipped campsites. Each campsite has its own thatch gazebo encasing a hot water shower, wash up basin, power points and picnic tables. Each camp has its own jetty onto the water.

Transfers are available from the airport at Inhambane. Sheltered parking is available and security guards are on patrol.

FISHING
Mozambique has always been a fisherman's paradise with abundant fish stocks. The Rio Inharime river lives up to that fine tradition. All the waters surrounding Caju Afrique are saltwater varying in salinity be upriver and the salted lake Poela just 15 kms or 20 minutes by boat down river.

Fish commonly caught in Lake Poela are the Kingfish, The Spotted Grunter, The Gar Fish and The Stump Nose Family. Rumour has it that a Bull Shark was caught in the lake. Pictures ar on the notice board at Zavora.
