We are set only 35km North of Maputo. Enjoy the thrill of crossing the Nkomati River at Marracuen by Ferry, it can carry 6 cars, boat etc. at a time. It operates from 6:00 in the morning till 19:00 in the evening. Macanetta Island is the closest beach resort to Maputo in Southern Mozambique. This unique island is surrounded by the Nkomati River and the Indian Ocean with abundant plant- and bird life, and excellent fishing in the area. Here you find tropical pristine unspoilt beaches for 50 kilometres.
Our campsites are equipped with electricity and water each with its own braai. The chalets are fully equipped and comfortable. Our ablution consisting of 8 showers, 1 bath and 8 toilets, are of 5 star quality, clean, neat and comfortable with hot water and electricity for the lady that likes to pamper herself. The bar and kiosk will provide in all your needs after a hot day on the beach, or just a snack next to the cooling swimming pool. There are lots to do, take a boat trip to one of the nearby Portuguese islands or Inhaca or try deep sea fishing. There are also lovely snorkeling spots in the Inhaca Island surroundings. If the boat idea doesn’t suit you try fishing from the side or explore the island. Our volleyball and play park is safe to let the children enjoy themselves. Relax on a clean beach just a walking distance from your campsite.
Fresh fish are available from the local fisherman, petrol, are available at Maracuene and charcoal and bread are available at our kiosk. Although fresh water is available, it is advisable to bring enough of your own drinking water. Our tented and bush camp is ideal for group bookings and a must for team building weekends. It will be a stay to remember. |
