Planet Scuba’s aim is to put the pleasure back into diving, by making diving as effortless as possible. No gear to carry, or boats to load! You and your equipment are transported to and from the beach, your gear is washed by our staff, and cylinders filled ready for the next dive.
Emphasis is placed on diving safety.
Planet Scuba offers diving excursions to multiple reefs that teem with marine life. Visit Bass City for encounters with the friendly resident Potato Bass… or Pinnacles for our more advanced divers, for adrenalin-filled encounters with Hammerhead and Zambezi sharks. Don’t forget your snorkels as dolphins or whale sharks might also be in the vicinity. With so many other reefs to explore, we can assure you of a unique diving experience!
DEAP SEA FISHING
Ever wanted to land a powerful marlin, or catch a mighty yellowfin? Cast your rod and wait for the anticipated pull before reeling in your prize catch. The sparkling waters of Southern Mozambique are known for its abundance of big game, offering one of the best fishing grounds
in South Africa. Our staff will assist you to launch your boat. They will be at hand to wash the boat after your day at sea. They days catch will be cleaned and frozen for you.

THINGS TO DO IN PONTA DO OURO:
- Diving (which, of course, is what Ponta do Ouro is known for).
- 4X4 Scenic Route - go for a drive through the dense pristine dune forest, enjoying the bird life, on soft sand tracks - don't underestimate the challenges that this route offers you.
- A walk along the beach might bring you face to face with a turtle laying her eggs (from October - December).
- Dolphin or Whale Shark search - once found you will be able to swim with these
magnificent creatures.
- Maputo Elephant Reserve is some 50km north of Ponta Do Ouro - the Elephants are very shy. There are also Duiker and other small antelope.
- Deep sea fishing - catch the big one. Use your own boat or make use of a fishing charter.
Get your license from the maritime office in town.
- Enjoy a tasty meal at one of Ponta’s restaurants or watch the sunset with a cocktail in
hand. Please remember that not many restaurants accept credit cards and it is recommended that you take a sufficient amount of cash along. There is no bank in Ponta.
